	Albutec GmbH (Rostock) Efficient treatment of liver failure Albutec, founded in 2004 by the scientists Ms. Katrin Stange and Prof. Dr. Jan Stange, develops medical nanostructured filters and absorbents for blood purification specifically for use in the treatment of liver diseases. Thanks to these patented filters the toxin binding capacity of industrially stabilized albumin (a plasma protein used in liver dialysis) can be improved by 300 percent. The filter has already been granted the CE licence and is comprehensively been tested with patients. Exit was conducted in Q4-2009 as a trade sale.
